The primary purpose of this position is to perform assembly / disassembly operations on Industrial Gas Turbine Engines. Some grit blast, prepare for coating, blend, cold and hot work metal as required
What are my responsibilities?Performs routine and repetitive assembly / disassembly operations and processes.Prepare parts for coating, heat treat, weld, and shipmentHand blend weld & braze repairs to contour to meet process requirementsBelt sand/blend production components.Requires use of a few simple hand and machine toolsTest and calibrate partsSome grit blast requiredAble to load parts as required in vacuum furnaceOperate material handling equipment, including crane.Accurately read and follow work instructionsAccurately read and interpret blueprintsAble to use measuring tools accuratelyAbility to handle multiple taskComply with safety rules and follow hazardous waste disposal proceduresParticipate in cost and scrap reduction process improvement effortsPerform in-process inspection of parts.
3+ years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment with assembly and part preparation processesApplicants must be able to demonstrate their skills and experience in a similar role.Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector or aerospace is desirable but not essential.A history of “hands-on” approach to problem solving and counter measure implementation within own areas of responsibility.Demonstrated understanding of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing and its impact to quality.Requires the ability to read, write, and complete simple forms, and to understand written instructionsRequires the ability to perform math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; also requires the simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, or diagrams
